Green economy = perpetual economic growth?

Rio+20 has been much less favourable to the notions of green economy than it was to the concept of sustainable consumption and production. Perhaps because politicians did not realise that sustainable consumption also includes sufficiency rational along with efficiency approaches, that strong sustainable consumption does put runaway economic growth under scrutiny and that a growing number of advocates, communities and networks of sustainable consumption do call for alternative economic systems and indicators of societal development. Read an articel in Guardian where Prof. Tim Jackson sheds some light on what happened to Green Economy in Rio.
