Environmental villains feel pretty good about themselves

A new National Geographic survey “Greendex 2012: Consumer Choice and the Environment—A Worldwide Tracking Survey” measures consumer behavior in areas relating to housing, transportation, food, and consumer goods. It revealed that the least green nation, the USA, suffers least from green guilt feelings despite having the heaviest footprint. Meanwhile, consumers in developing countries with the lowest environmental impacts are the most likely to agree that they “feel guilty about the impact [they] have on the environment”.
